About Rosemarie Morelli
Rosemarie Morelli is an American artist, born in Needham, Massachusetts. She primarily paints Impressionism Plein Air Landscapes and Classical Realism Still Life, and strives to capture the moment of beauty that is seen in nature's light. New England coastal scenes are her favorite subjects, but she never leaves home without her easel when traveling abroad. Her techniques as a representational artist evolved from early beginnings as a surrealist painter and illustrator, depicting colorful, dreamlike imageries and concepts that were used for publication, book and album covers, and for the art collector to enjoy in their private collection.
Since 1985, Rosemarie enjoyed selling and showing her works in galleries, one-woman shows, and juried exhibitions. At age 35, Rosemarie began her 7-years of formal training in classical realism and impressionism painting under Nadia Mahfuz, distinguished artist and former Guild of Boston Artists Board Member of the Boston School of Painters. She also received training under Sergio Roffo and the late Joanne Regan, pupil of Italian painter Pietro Annigoni. Prior to her mentors Rosemarie studied oil painting, drawing and fine art illustration at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts Boston, Mass College of Art, DeCordova Art Museum, Danforth Museum and Worcester Art Museum. She graduated 1980 from The University of Lowell, and enjoyed a successful career as a Graphic Designer for more than 30 years. She was awarded several commissions for her murals and major art installation designs for Children's Hospital Boston and other Healthcare venues.
Rosemarie continues to please her viewers with new art that provides a beautiful scene and a focus for tranquility and calm. Her original paintings and prints sell to a wide audience of corporate art buyers, art consultants, interior designers and the general public.
